chart2Dear Fans, Friends and Supporters of Indoor Track,

We appreciate that you have taken the time to voice your support for high school indoor track & field. Welcome to the new FRIENDS OF INDOOR TRACK website. Our goal is to showcase our commitment to the sport. We also hope you support our cause of saving and preserving indoor track as a sport for high school boys and girls in Fairfax County Virginia.

The current budget battle for FY 2010 poses a risk to the existence of indoor track in the 2009-2010 school years. The future of our young athletes is at risk and only your personal involvement will make a difference.

Bookmark our new website to promote Indoor Track: friendsofindoortrack.org We are F.I.T. think of getting FIT by running indoor track and you'll remember our organization.

FIT promotes indoor track as an open unrestricted sports for boys and girls. FIT is helping the parents, students and fans of Indoor Track in Fairfax County in their efforts to save and preserve the sport of indoor track & field. We also hope and intend to lead the eventual development and construction of an indoor facility in Northern Virginia that can be a home for high school indoor track & field.

We ask your help in sending e-mails to our elected leaders asking them to engage with our parents, coaches, and interested parties to develop a program that will help to meet the financial challenges facing us but not through the wholesale elimination of a program that involves over 2700 athletes or 11% of the total FCPS sports programs.

Please help us to insure the future of this important program. If you have any questions or are looking for additional details please contact your local HS Track Coach or send us an e-mail.

Thank you for your support,

Dan Woolley, President
Friends of Indoor Track (FIT)
